Rerouting a package can seem confusing, especially when each carrier does it differently. You can go on vacation oryou recently moved and forgot to provide theRightdirectionto the sender,Or maybe the sender has the wrong address. Whatever the reason, this is how you can contact major couriers to have your packages diverted (in most cases).

4 reasons to redirect a package

There are numerous reasons why a packet needs to be redirected. Here are the top four:

(Video) Re-routing Packages After You Sent Them To the Wrong Ebay Customer!

  1. Did you move– You thought you filled out all the correct forms and made the necessary delivery changes, but invariably a package delivery is on its way to your oldShippingdirection.
  2. you will be out of town– With the freedom to travel beckoning us, balancing boarding times with vacation time is often a challenge.
  3. Did you notice a hit– eBay, Poshmark, Etsy and other central market users sometimes recognize that they have shipped a wrong order before the money has been released and have to stop the delivery.
  4. You wrote the wrong address– These “highs” usually happen when you are in a hurry. or you inadvertently transpose the numbers in an address.

Fortunately, virtually all major package carriers allow you to reroute a package to another address for delivery as long as you apply online and the package has not yet been delivered. Here's a summary of how each operator handles rerouting.

How to Redirect an Amazon Package

To update the shipping address for an Amazon order that has not yet entered the shipping process, visit the "Your Orders" tab on Amazon.com or the Amazon mobile app.

To change your order information:

  1. Go to your requests.
  2. Select the "Order Details" link for the order you want to change.
  3. Follow the onscreen instructions to change the information.

To update the delivery address for an order from a third-party seller that has not yet entered the shipping processes, contact the seller directlyto provide your correct address. For most third-party sellers, this probably means requesting cancellation and placing another order at your preferred address.

However, once an Amazon package ships, you cannot update your order address. If you are unable to update your address for an order shipped by Amazon or a delivery attempt for a failed Amazon delivery, please refer to your information at Packages that cannot be delivered here🇧🇷 Whether you're updating an order from Amazon or a third-party seller, you may need to request a cancellation and reorder.

How to Redirect a FedEx Package

Forwarding a package with Federal Express (FedEx) is also relatively easy. However, getting an estimate of the additional cost involved often requires speaking with a customer service agent rather than the more easily accessible USPS chart mentioned above.

create a free FedEx Delivery Manageraccount speeds up any changes you want to make to your incoming or outgoing packages. You can hold your packages, redirect them to a local FedEx location (also free), or even ship them to a local Walgreens or Dollar General store. FedEx adopts smart lockers so you can pick up your package without waiting in line. When your package is ready for pickup, you'll receive an email or text message allowing you to open your locker at your destination in just 10 seconds. Tip: Download the FedEx app before you go.
