Crucible Knight Ordovis is one of the tough bosses in Elden Ring. This is not the main story boss, but an optional boss. Crucible Knights can be found in a large mausoleum on the outskirts of Leyndell, the capital, called the Auriza Hero's Grave. To get there, you can go to the outer wall battlefield. You will find stairs that go up the side of the mountain, you need to go up those stairs and from there head to the right to the passage that goes down the mountain. You have to move forward and you will find the Tomb of the Hero of Auriza.

You have to go down to the dungeon. You will have to be careful as there are traps and moving skeletons as you progress through the dungeon. After you get past the annoying moving trap, you'll go through a small door. Go down the stairs there and you will get a teleport. You need to use the teleport and it will take you to the hallway where you will face Crucible Knight Ordovis and his Crucible Knight duo.

How to defeat Crucible Knight Ordovis (Duo)

The best way to defeat the Crucible Knight Ordovis duo is to take on your Crucible Knight friend first. This is not an easy task either, as the two will stay together throughout the entire fight. So you have to be smart and watch out for both attacks and then on the counter attack, target the Crucible Knight with the spear first.

Crucible Knight has the spear and has many attacks ranging from stab attacks to swing attacks. There are also pillars in the hallway. Therefore, he can also keep his distance and stay behind the pillars to avoid some of his attacks, but those pillars can be broken by them. You need to be careful with both Crucible Knight's attacks as they tend to attack one after the other. After they've both done their attacks, you tend to hit them.

The first few attacks are the stab attacks that you need to roll to the side to avoid and he will also do a follow up side attack that you have to roll to the side again for. That way, you can deal a good amount of damage to the Crucible knight by waiting for his attacks first. You can also use Summon Spirit Ashes to help distract them and give yourself time to counter the Crucible Knights. Crucible Knight's next attack is the one he has the spear that will do an angelic attack where he will spin his spear summoning some kind of light which is a long attack and will do a lot of damage if he hits you. Additionally, it can be followed by Ordovis' angelic attack, where he slams his sword into the ground to make a lightning earthquake.

After Crucible Knights' HP reaches almost half, it will start using new angelic summons, which also deal more damage. He will do the regular swing and stab attacks with spears. Also, he will do two angelic summon attacks. The first attack is where he will gain wings and fly like an angel and run towards you to attack. You will have to roll sideways to dodge this attack and then counter it. The second one is very dangerous, where he will summon a dagger from his sand and try to stab you. This one is dangerous, as he will grab you and deal a lot of damage, taking almost all of your HP down. Crucible Knight will do these attacks very often in the second phase. You will have to keep your distance, keep an eye out for Ordovis, and counterattack to kill him. The best tactic is to be patient in this fight, not try to throw too many attacks. Try to do a normal sword attack, or if you have a staff, do magic spell attacks. You can use Godrick's rune to increase your HP and other stats which will give you a boon over Ordovis to help you defeat him. Ordovis mainly has short-range sword attacks with stabs and swings. He will also do a shield attack that you can roll around to get behind Ordovis and attack him from behind. This will also deal a large amount of damage to him. These are mostly his phase 1 attacks. You can keep rerolling the roll and attack him from behind to deal enough damage to reduce his HP to almost half.

After Ordovis has almost half his HP, he will switch to new combo attacks with some normal sword slash attacks. He will use two angelic attacks, one with his sword, where he will strike his sword and make an earthquake into lightning. You can dodge this to get out of the glowing beam. In the second angelic attack, he will fly up and run towards you with his sword coming towards you, you need to roll sideways to avoid this attack.
